COMSA supports open data sharing for a variety of purposes. Currently, only Level 1: Aggregated Data are available on our site. As more datasets are added and updated, higher levels of data access will be made available, starting in Spring 2022. Users must register and/or submit a request form to access higher levels of data. Registration and data request forms will be available online soon.

Aggregated data were collected for the years 2018 to 2020 and are available to all users on our website. These data provide summaries of deaths, causes of death, and enumeration for each region. The number of study deaths are compared to the national UN estimated death totals.

Access to Level 2: de-identified individual level datasets will requires accepting Terms and Conditions. These datasets include demographics of the deceased and house, household, and household member details.

Access to Level 3: limited identifiable individual level datasets will require online registration and submission of a 250-word study abstract. These datasets may include images, audio, geo-location coordinates, and verbal autopsies and narratives of neonatal, child, and adult deaths (with all names and contact information removed).

Level 4: identifiable individual level datasets are only directly accessible only to COMSA team administrators. These datasets include names and contact information, and will not be shared with other users. If an analysis of the L4 data is required, the analysis will be conducted by COMSA team analysts, who will share the output with the requester.
